Post Office Troubles

I went to the post office today to send some goodies to the winner of my giveaway, but Australia post don't send out flammables so they didn't accept the polishes for me to send :( this is odd because I've had someone from Western Australia send me a bottle, so I'm wondering how that occurred? Perhaps they sent it without going to the desk? I would do that but I'm worried they will get lost in the mail and usually we have to pay packages by weight, so in doing so, I wouldn't have to pay for weight (only the packaging itself) and that's my concern.

I'm not sure whether there are other options, but I will look into it and if there is no other option, then I either just send them out anyway or not send them at all. I'm really sorry to Freya and Denniesha (winner from my other little challenge). I just don't want you to not receive the prizes because they weren't sent properly.

Does anyone else have this problem? If you do, how do you go about it? I will contact the girls soon to let them know the situation (if they are not reading this).

  1. We all turn into little liars and deny that anything within the package is potentially hazardous. On the customs forms, just label it as cosmetics or make up and they accept it.

  2. I always label mine as makeup or cosmestics and throw some candy or extra stickers pen whatever just to give a little shape to the package

  3. I'm in AUs and sent polish out all the time, pre-package the polish then go up to the desk and pay for the weight, it isn't that expensive - even overseas, but you just don't tell them it's polish

  4. Thanks for the tips, It's cause I only had them in bubble wrap and when I took them out, it was quite obvious it was nail polish.. haha fail on my part - will def try it again, gift wrapped and all!

  5. I label mine Cosmetics and Candies and throw a little candy in so that its true. If they ask what kind I say makeup and say its powder eyeshadow.
