Gloss Design on Matte Black

Hello readers! Tonight I have an old design to show you. For early followers or those that remember the pic I put on FB last year or so, I posted a pic of matte black falsies with a gloss design/pattern on them. I thought it was time that I did them on my own nails and it turned out great! I love how they look together. It's very subtle, but classy and elegant in a way. Looks best when in a brightly lit area so you get the contrast between the gloss and matte finishes.

Enough babble, let's take a look at the pics!

What do you think of this mani? Let me know below! :)

BTW, my nail art contest ends in under a week! Don't forget to submit your entries in :)

  12. Absolutely unbelievable! I've been thinking of doing a glossy on matte design, but it definitely wouldn't come out as gorgeous as this! Just to let you know (in case you didn't already) I have to fill out a word verification every time I want to post a comment on your blog. All google blogs do this unless you turn it off. It would make it easier to comment if you turned it off :)

    1. heya karen! I'm using a matte black polish. If you don't have one and want a matte finish, you can try matte topcoats. Essie, China Glaze and Hard Candy have matte topcoats, so that's a start! I'm sure there are many brands out there that I'm unaware of haha

  42. I have a matte polish too but when I use my topcoat it's shiny and no longer matte. Do u use a special matte topcoat over the color and nothing on top of the design?

    ReplyDelete

    1. You shouldn't use topcoat over matter polishes cause you lose the matte effect. Instead opt for a matte topcoat! My polish was already matte so I didn't add any topcoat to it at all, I just drew with a black striper polish which dries shiny and left it as is.
