China Glaze Wicked Collection (3 colours)

Hi everyone! It's that time where the end of my project is drawing nearer and I have tried to stay on task, so I haven't been posting a lot for the time being. I received my nail mail a few days ago and swatched 3 colours that I purchased from the China Glaze Wicked collection. The 3 that I got were Glitter Goblin, Immortal and Make a Spectacle. I apologise for the lack of photos, as I will only be showing one picture for each colour.

First, we have Immortal. Immortal is a medium grey, (kind of like concrete, but not as dark) packed with shimmer particles that flash pink, purple, blue and the basic white/silver shimmer. Its an interesting colour and looks better in real life! Swatch shows two easy coats with no topcoat.

Next up is Glitter Goblin. I honestly did not want to buy this one since I didn't think I'd like the orangey glitter. I thought I would buy it anyway and hope for the best - and I'm glad I did! As soon as I applied it to reach maximum opacity, I really liked how it looked! Happy surprise right there :)

Glitter goblin is a mix of a deep orange glitter and holographic glitter suspended in a clear base. It's heaps more sparkly in real life. Application was pretty good, with the glitter being quite dense and no problems with dragging the glitter off the nails. Swatch shows 3 coats with no topcoat.

Last, but not least is Make a Spectacle. When I first saw this glitter, It reminded me of something I already owned - Kleancolor Sugarcoat, but when I double checked it again, they are similar but not the same. I haven't compared them yet, but from observation, one is more dense than the other. Make a Spectacle is a mix of irridescent medium hex glitter as well as smaller particles, all densely packed in a clear base.

This looks best over darker colours such as blacks, deep blues and purples. If you are after a more subtle look, this would look great over white, light pinks and blues. Swatch shows one easy coat over OPI Ink with no topcoat.

So there we have it! What do you think of these colours/collection? Let me know what you think and whether or not you picked up any from this collection :)

My next swatches will probably be the OPI's Skyfall collection and China Glaze's Holiday Joy collection. SAH EXCITED! Look forward to seeing you all in the next post! Take care,

Breast Cancer Awareness Nails!

Hello readers! Tonight, I have a charitable post for you :) Since it is Breast Cancer Awareness month, I have decided to do some nails for the occasion! I had a look around at some collateral they had to see what I could do on my nails and I thought I'd go for something simple and do some frangipanis and the breast cancer logo. Gotta say this is one of the those times that I decided to draw with nail polish rather than paint!

Here's how they turned out

I don't really have much to say about this mani! Think I should start labelling the products as default on my posts so you all know what colours I've used. I'll start with this one! For this mani I used the following polishes:

OPI Pink Friday
Colour Club French Tip
China Glaze Happy Go Lucky
Seche Vite Quick Dry Topcoat

Has anyone else done any Breast Cancer Awareness nails? Leave a link if you did, I'd love to see it! Till the next post, take care :)

Bloom St Tropez & Barefoot Sandals!

Hi everyone! For those who have been keeping tabs on my Facebook page, you might've seen that I was going to do a sort of unrelated nail post, BUT I took a picture of the polish on my toes to make it a little more relevant... hehe

Anyway, I decided to make this post to help a friend out, to help get word out about her newly started business on handmaking 'barefoot sandals' or 'jewellery' for your feet. I thought I could help her get some more coverage by making a post about it, so I hope you don't mind - you might end up liking them!

I had a look around her Facebook page and one of them really caught my eye and when I received it in person, I loved it! I've teamed them with flats and a pair of heels to show you how they look. I've also sported them with a fun summery colour by Bloom, St Tropez. The Bloom polishes were going on clearance for $5 each and I bought a mini set of 3 with the orange, but I liked it so much I went back for a full size one :)

I haven't posted a picture of my feet before, I think it's a little weird, but what the hey, hope it doesn't freak you out haha I'll show you the jewellery as a set and up close and then show you my toes and the shoe pics. Here goes.

Look at that bling!

Weird toe pic, I know. The colour is so pretty though! My toes look scrunched up at this angle... haha

With flats

With heels

What do you think? Is it something you'd try? These would also be PERFECT for the beach! She has a lot of different types of designs on her Facebook page. I chose a bling one, but she also has lot's of beaded styles too, so you should check out her page here! Tell her I sent you :)

I hope this post wasn't too much of a stretch for you all. Tomorrow, I do a post on my breast cancer awareness nails :D See you in the next post!

Gucci Summer Fashion 2012 Inspired Nail Art

Hey everyone! Todays mani is a simple one, inspired by Gucci's Summer Fashion collection for 2012. I was browsing around for some fashion inspiration and came across something really simple I could try on my nails - mind you, I saw other pieces in that collection that I'm definitely gonna try out for another time.

Anyway, nothing too exciting here I reckon, just a mani I did for a lazy day - a low effort mani for me! You can see the inspiration here.

What do you think of this mani? Let me know what you think below!

Also, just letting you all know I have some nail mail coming in a couple weeks, and one of them is the entire OPI Skyfall collection (my bf bought this collection for me, isn't he lovely?)! Can't wait! I'm also contemplating on getting The Man With The Golden Gun, it's a bit pricey, so will see soon enough whether I purchase it. Expect to see some swatches soon :)

Takecare,

My Blonde Hair & Aztec/Tribal Nails

Hey everyone! Ok, so this isn't something I did recently, but I've had it for a few months now and I realised I never made a post about it - just thought it'd be fun to show you something (as well as nails) a little different :)

So last year, my friend and I decided to go blonde together and she changed hers before I did, so I've only been blonde for a few months. I went from Asian black hair to platinum/ash blonde! Took a long time to get to this colour, but such a great payoff - I really like the colour, but it's such a pain to maintain. I don't care, think i'm gonna keep it like this for a while, even if my parents disapprove and even if I constantly get stared at by randoms.

I just have some pics showing you my hair (seriously got my re-growth done about 2 weeks ago and it's starting to grow super quick) and my aztec nails :) I never usually take pics of myself, but hey, thought it might be fun... I will post the regular nail pics near the end of the post!

Sporting my nails in these pics hehe

Last night when I was painting these nails, I was experiencing major painting dyslexia. Are there times when for some ungodly reason, you can't seem to draw? That was me last night. Like a bad hair day, guess I was having a bad nail day Oh well, from afar it looks fine, just the line work is kind of dodgy, but I still like the end result.

What do you think of this post? Let me know below! Think I will be doing another slightly non-nail related post soon. I have a friend who has a small business of her own, making barefoot sandals and when I get my hands on one, I'll be modelling them on my feet :D Hope you guys don't mind these post, so again, please let me know what you think!

Take care!

Nail Art Inspired by Diva Necklace

Hey everyone! I have an older mani to show you today and this was inspired by a piece of jewellery that I saw on Diva's website. With so much neon and brights in season, I had no doubt that jewellery would follow suit, so I decided to browse around to find a pattern I liked and this was one that I had the colours for and kind of looked like a tribal design - score!

First off, click here to see the image that I took inspiration from.

Now, to show you the pictures :)

Sorry for the tad blurry pictures. I didn't take many at all and I was pretty tired, so settled for the ones I did take 'cause they looked alright on the camera haha

Oh well, I think I have one more older mani to show you, but if there's more, then there's no harm in that right? I also have to start thinking of a design for a nail art competition that I'm featured in, so I will fill you in on that a little later!

See you all in the next post, take care!
